The M50 includes an unlimited firewall, basic routing and networking services. It is a platform that supports all the other security modules listed with the M50. The M50 must be ordered with one of these security modules. Annual Content Subscriptions are for a period of one year. It is possible to add subscriptions at any time. Subscriptions are sold based on the number of protected nodes. A node is a physical device located behind either the internal or DMZ interfaces. Th by tracking the number of unique IP addresses traversing those interfaces originating from behind them and passing through the appliance, as seen over a one week period. Subscription licenses are additive. To get a 150 node license, purchase one 100 node node license. The VPN module is a one-time fee added to the platform price. The VPN functionality included with the M50-VPN is software only. If any significant use of the VPN is anticipated, the purchase of the M50-VPNACL is highly recommended. This opti hardware acceleration for encryption and is important to ensure the necessary performance levels.
